US official for Eurasian Affairs arrives in South Caucasus

The Director of the Office of Caucasus Affairs and Regional Conflicts in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, Justin Friedman and Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Eric S. Rubin will travel to Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

Mr. Friedman will start his visit on September 28 through October 8; Mr. Rubin will travel to the region on October 16-22.

The officials will discuss U.S.-Armenia bilateral relations, stressing the strategic and shared interests underlying bilateral cooperation in security, economic, and democratic reforms.

Meetings with government officials and civil society leaders to discuss bilateral issues, as well as issues related to regional peace and stability, are scheduled.
