Georgia attaches great importance to its relations with Azerbaijan and the high-level meetings allow to resolve issues of bilateral relations, Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said at a traditional briefing on Monday.
Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze is expected to pay an official visit to Baku on Oct.26-27.
“During the two-day visit, Vashadze will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Transport Minister,” Kalandadze said.
She said the meetings will discuss topical issues of bilateral relations and issues of cooperation in economic, transport and energy.
“We hope that this visit, like previous ones, will be successful,” Kalandadze said.
She said that “intensive visits between the two countries indicate that Georgia and Azerbaijan are strategic partners.”
