The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia hopes that the newly appointed Greek government will be ready to put an end to the longtime dispute over the use of the name Macedonia the two countries have.
“I believe that the new Greek national unity government can undertake a process of unblocking the name dispute,” Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki told reporters on Thursday. He added that he relied on a closer cooperation with Athens on resolving the issue that has been blocking his country’s EU accession bid.
