Georgian President meets US Congress, discusses defense issues

Issues of USA and Georgia’s transition to a new level of relations in the sphere of security and defense were discussed during Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s meetings at the U.S. Congress.

According to the Presidential Administration, President Saakashvili met with several congressmen.

The U.S. congressmen were briefed on the reforms carried out in Georgia and positively assessed them. President Saakashvili said not only countries of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, but also Russia is interested in Georgia’s reforms.
