Romania’s new cabinet wins confidence vote

Romania’s new centre-right government on Thursday won a vote of confidence in parliament boycotted by the opposition, after pledging to push for eurozone entry in 2015 and fight corruption.

Lawmakers backed Mihai Razvan Ungureanu’s cabinet by 237 votes to two, the official vote count showed.

“I hope I will never deceive you, although I know I have a difficult mission,” Ungureanu told lawmakers.
