Bulgaria recalls ambassador to Serbia

The Bulgarian Ambassador to Serbia, Georgi Dimitrov, had been recalled after a scandal with Bulgarian Deputy Defense Minister, Avgustina Tsvetkova.

Tsvetkova had travelled to Belgrade to take part in the official celebration for March 3 – Bulgaria’s Liberation Day and National Holiday.

The Ambassador had arranged for her to meet with Serbian Defense Minister, Dragan Sutanovac. The Bulgarian diplomat was supposed to attend this meeting in the frame of the official program, but the Deputy Defense Minister told him she did not want his presence because he no longer represents Bulgaria.

In response, the Foreign Affairs Ministry ordered him to leave Belgrade ASAP.
