EU to unblock part of funds to Romania

On February 20, Brussels halted EU funds to Romania after a control found irregularities in the management of the human resources development programme, worth a total of 3.5 billion euros.

The European Commission will unblock the funds for human resources development programmes, the Romanian government announced on Tuesday.

“This decision is based on progress made in the implementation of human resources development programs and because of the economic situation in Romania”, the Romanian government said.
