Greek President Karolos Papoulias has appealed to his counterpart in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) regarding discussions over the dispute on the Balkan country’s name.
Papoulias sent a letter to President Gjorge Ivanov, which said that “Greece remains fully committed to finding a just and viable solution to the name dispute.”
Resolving the issue “will allow us to exploit the great potential of our bilateral ties and contribute to boosting regional security and stability,” Papoulias wrote in the letter of response to one from Ivanov last month.
