Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to finish Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway in 2013

Azerbaijani Deputy Transport Minister Musa Panahov announced on Monday that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway will be functional in 2013.

The project is intended to connect the railway systems of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.

“The work under this project continues at a heightened pace, so that by year’s end to ensure the connection of railway systems of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey,” Panahov said the deputy minister.

The minister said that by the end of 2012 a work train should be launched, and the railroad will work completely in 2013.
