Bulgaria PM emphasizes energy importance during talks with Moldovan counterpart

Boyko Borisov, the Bulgarian Prime Minister, stressed the importance of gas interconnection projects for energy security after a Thursday meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Vladimir Filat.

“I hope that we shall be able to achieve the much desired diversification in the region with the support of the European Commission (EC),” Borisov said.

“We shall turn the first sod in May and the construction of the gas grid interconnection with Romania will start. Technically, the gas link that is being built between Moldova and Romania will bind us into one system and, naturally, we expect a lot,” the Bulgarian PM added.
