Bulgarian FM says NATO must give a strong signal to Western Balkans

NATO should send a message to Western Balkans that the door is still open. This would be a strong motivation for countries to reform, said Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolai Mladenov in Brussels, where he met alliance’s foreign and defence ministers.

Mladenov gave Bosnia as an example, saying that it achieved significant political consensus in order to make progress towards NATO.

He urged support for Bosnia and Herzegovina, saying that “now it is our turn to encourage their efforts” and it would be good news for the region .
