NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in Brussels on Thursday that there are “fundamental differences” between the NATO and Russia over Georgia.
He said he stated this issue during a NATO meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the frame of the NATO-Russia Council meeting in Brussels on April 19.
“We have discussed those areas where we still have fundamental differences. One such issue is Georgia, where NATO supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders,” Rasmussen said.
