Bosnian FM pledges to implement ECHR ruling

On April 25 in Strasbourg, Bosnian Foreign Minister, Zlatko Lagumdzija, expressed hope and commitment  that the country would soon implement the 2009 European Court of Human Rights, ECHR, ruling, which says Bosnia must change its constitution to allow ethnic minorities to run for top posts.

Lagumdzija said that the political will in Bosnia existed to overcome resistance to the proposed changes: “We are ready to try again… to reach what we firmly believe our citizens deserve.”

He also stated that he is determinated to help transform Bosnia into a stable democracy based on Council of Europe values.
