German Ambassador to Skopje says development and reforms do not depend on EU and NATO

German Ambassador to Skopje Gudrun Steinacker said that the country’s development does not depend on the membership in the EU and NATO.

“Macedonia’s development does not depend on the membership in the EU and NATO. The progress and the reforms may continue even outside these organisations,” she said.

She added that Macedonia deserves the EU and NATO membership and the country has met all the criteria, but Germany cannot react in separation to all the rest of the member states.

“Geographically speaking, Macedonia belongs to Europe and it is a member of many European organisations,” Steinacker concluded.
