Nikolic and Tadic close to form a parliamentary majority

Boris Tadic of the Democrats and Serbia’s newly elected President, Tomislav Nikolic, met on Wednesday for a second time to discuss the formation of a new government.

“We are close to forming a parliamentary majority and I am convinced that we will do so in the next few days,” Tadic told Nikolic at a meeting.

“Everyone is talking with one another; the Progressives are trying to agree their own parliamentary majority, while the Democrats are making great efforts to form a majority that will be in the people’s interest,” Tadic said of the ongoing consultations.
