Serbia will always insist on safety of Kosovo Serbs, says official

Serbia will always insist on the safety of its people in Kosovo above everything else, regardless of whether Belgrade and Priština resume their talks.

This is according to Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo Director Aleksandar Vulin.

While visiting the multiethnic village of Suvi Do near Kosovska Mitrovica, which is home to 78 families, Vulin said the main problems of its residents were safety, constant thefts and violence.

He noted this was the result of the utter indifference exhibited by members of the Kosovo police and the international community and the lack of political will to tackle the problems.

“The Serbian state is here to help and we will do everything in our power to make life possible, but what is needed is firm resolve from the international community to deal with the security issues,” said Vulin.
