Catherine Ashton urges immediate solution for Macedonian name issue

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, who paid a visit to Macedonia on Tuesday, called for immediate solution of the name issue between Macedonia and Greece.

I am encouraging both countries to use the efforts of UN envoy Matthew Nimetz. I am aware that this could be a difficult decision, but there is no alternative. It is better to happen earlier, than later, said Ashton.

According to her this is the only way to advance towards the EU.
