Serbian Parliament Speaker Nebojša Stefanović hopes a deal will be reached with northern Kosovo Serbs regarding the implementation of the Brussels agreement.
Stefanović expressed hope that agreement concerning the Brussels document would be reached at the meeting with Kosovo Serbs that should be held on Tuesday.
“If necessary, we will stage a referendum so as to achieve national and state unity and if northern Kosovo Serbs would agree to participate in the implementation of the agreement after this and realize that this is the will of the majority – and I believe it is – then we should definitely call the referendum so as not to cause splits among the people and create gaps,” Stefanović told reporters when asked whether the referendum would be held.
