US calls on Kosovo Serbs to vote in November elections

The US ambassador to Kosovo has called on local Serbs to show a high turnout at the forthcoming Pristina-run elections in November.

Speaking in Serbian in a live interview on Radio Television Kosovo 2 on Thursday, US ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson said Serbs in Kosovo should participate in the local polls on November 3.

“I hope we will have a high turnout in these elections and that people will vote for the candidates in whom they place trust to better govern their municipalities in the future,” Jacobson said.

She said that by casting their ballots in the elections, Kosovo Serbs would have an opportunity to choose legitimate representatives who will be recognised by neighbouring countries and the international community.
