Bulgaria backs Turkey’s EU integration

imgBulgaria stands behind Turkey’s bid to become a full member of the European Union, stated Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin.

Sunday Vigenin is on an official trip to Turkey, where he met Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.

“Bulgaria supports Turkey’s application of membership into the EU. We are happy with the decision for opening of negotiation chapter 22,” said the Bulgarian top diplomat.

“We consider it is necessary to speed up activities on the preparation of a roadmap for EU visa liberalization regarding Turkish citizens,” added Vigenin.

Within bilateral relations, the Bulgarian top diplomat singled out energy and transport infrastructure.
