France reiterates confidence in Tunisia’s future

On the sidelines of his participation in the General Conference of UNESCO, Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki, on Tuesday, held talks with French President François Hollande at the Elysée Palace in Paris.

The meeting focused on ways to promote bilateral relations to the level of effective partnership in all areas, especially the economy, according to a Presidency press release.

Hollande stressed France’s continued support to the Tunisian tourism. He assured that the two attempted terrorist attacks in Sousse and Monastir will not alter the confidence of French people in the Tunisian destination.

The French President reiterated his country’s support for the transition process in Tunisia and expressed confidence in the Tunisians’ capacity to end the transition stage and overcome all difficulties by reaching real consensus crowned with the adoption of the constitution and holding free and fair elections.

Talks also focused on the importance of unifying efforts against terrorism, according to the same source.

Mr. Hollande also expressed his country’s readiness to help Tunisia with expertise and equipment needed to combat this scourge.
