Several Syrian rockets land in Lebanon

Several rockets launched from the Syrian side of the border with Lebanon landed on the outskirts of the east Bekaa town of Sirin on Thursday without causing any casualties.

According to the National News Agency six rockets crashed into uninhabited areas on the outskirts of the mostly Shiite town of Sirin.

But other media outlets reported that a total of 12 rockets landed on various areas of the east Bekaa.

Local television station New TV reported that one of the 12 rockets landed in Nabi Shit near the house of former minister Fayez Shokr, a supporter of the Syrian government.

Syrian rebels have frequently targeted the east Bekaa regions in retaliation against Hezbollah for its participation in the Syrian conflict and for its perceived support of the Syrian government.
