Ukraine Defense Ministry says army won’t be used against Kiev Protesters

The Ukrainian army will not be used to counter act protests in the country, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday.

“Ukraine’s armed forces cannot be used to restrict the
rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens,” stated the Ministry of Defense.

“Therefore, reports circulated by some media that the army will be used against peaceful protesters are to be indubitably seen as provocation,” added the ministry.
