Turkey, EU sign visa agreement

Turkey and the European Union have signed an agreement that will allow Turkish citizens to enjoy visa-free travel to European countries.

In return for the launching of visa exemption talks, Turkey today signed the Readmission Agreement, which will oblige it to accept illegal migrants who enter the EU via Turkey.

With the deals, Turkey has agreed to accept migrants who illegally enter EU territory via Turkey, while Turkish citizens will be able to enter Europe without a visa in three years’ time.
