Ukrainian government pledges to sign EU Deal in 2014

The Ukrainian government will do everything possible to make sure that the Association Agreement with the EU is signed in 2014, according to Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Arbuzov.

However, Maja Kocijancic, Spokesperson for the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, said Monday that no steps were being taken to draft new documents on the deal with Ukraine.

Kocijancic announced in London that no date had so far been set for an EU-Ukraine summit in 2014.

She said that work on joint documents with Ukraine would start after a summit was scheduled, adding that it took place once a year as a rule.
