Romanian President visits Turkey

Romanian President Traian Basescu has arrived in Ankara for a two-day official visit Wednesday.

Basescu was welcomed at the Esenboga Airport by European Union Minister and Chief Negotiator Mevlut Cavusoglu, Deputy Governor Mehmet Ali Ulutas and Foreign Ministry officials.

Basescu is due to meet with President Abdullah Gul, Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his visit.

He is also expected to attend the opening of the Turkey-Romania Economy and Investment Summit on Thursday.
