Turkish FM, UN Secretary General discuss Ukraine

imgTurkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu met with Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki -moon in New York on Tuesday , reiterated the importance of unity in Ukraine and stressed that any concessions on the territorial integrity of the country can impact not only on the region of the Black Sea, but the whole of Eurasia.

Stressing that Turkey shares the same approach to the preservation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine with other allies, Davutoğlu said that Turkey hopes that the independence of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea , which was not adopted on Tuesday not harm the country’s territorial integrity .

” All means of political solution can be considered to preserve the territorial integrity of Ukraine ,” noted Mr. Davutoğlu . Commenting on the details of the meeting, Davutoğlu said that he and the Secretary General of the United Nations decided that the current Ukrainian government in power , and all future governments should represent the country as a whole.

Davutoğlu and Ban also discussed the future of the Crimean Tatars in Ukraine, the recent developments in Syria and the peace process in Cyprus.
