Syrian jets launch airstrikes near Lebanese border town

imgSyrian warplanes launched airstrikes Monday on a Lebanese border town in northeastern the country, targeting hideouts of Syrian anti-government militants, official media reported.

Syrian government’s warplanes bombed the town of Arsal, bordering Qalamon, Syria, where a number of opposition Syrian armed men are usually stationed.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese army stated today that three rockets were fired from the bordering area with Syria and fell in towns in North Bekaa region, causing zero damages.

Groups of Syrian opposition militants have been deployed around the town of Arsal since August, holding around 28 Lebanese military and security men hostages.
