Ban condemns bomb attacks in Syrian

imgUN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned in the strongest terms Wednesday’s bomb attacks in Homs, which initial reports indicate killed 39 people, including 30 schoolchildren between the ages of six and nine.

He regarded this as an act of the utmost depravity, a statement released by his press office said.

Ban reiterated his call on all warring sides in this brutal and bloody conflict to stop the indiscriminate use of any weapons immediately.

Ban also appealed to all Syrian, regional and international actors to redouble their efforts to bring this horrific conflict to an end and help reach a long-overdue political solution.

Furthermore, he extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wishes of a swift recovery to those injured in today’s bombings.
