Turkey says it won’t accept security threats

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said here on Thursday that his country would not tolerate the undermining of peace, stability and peaceful coexistence.

“Turkey will never tolerate any traps against our peace, stability or sense of brotherhood,” Erdogan said in a statement published by the presidential information center.

The Turkish president’s remarks came following violent nationwide protests over Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants’ advance on the Syrian city of Kobane and resulted in the deaths of 24 Turkish citizens.
But, he vowed that his country would use the most effective and democratic way to handle acts of violence, vandalism and looting during protests.

Erodgan claimed that statements made by Turkish political parties, which encourage vandalism, violence and chaos, are primarily responsible for the bloodshed and loss of lives.
