International Mediation for Mali Crisis Led By Algeria Hailed

Algeria and Benin expressed satisfaction at the efforts of the international mediation, led by Algeria, for the resolution of the crisis in Mali, said Wednesday a joint statement issued at the end of the state visit of Beninese President Thomas Boni Yayi to Algeria.
As regards the situation in Mali, the two countries expressed their “satisfaction” at the efforts of the international mediation led by Algeria “for a final and lasting resolution to the Malian crisis with the respect for the unity and territorial integrity of this country,” said the joint statement.

The two sides also underlined the “need” for the international community to support Mali in its efforts for social and economic development, added the statement.
