Egypt to provide aid for Syrian refugees in Lebanon

Aid from the Egyptian Armed Forces to Syrian refugees in Lebanon will arrive in Beirut over three days starting Tuesday.
The aid, which will be loaded in three airplanes, consists of medicine, medical supplies, foods, tents, blankets and other relief supplies, and will go to refugees in Arsal in east Lebanon.
In a statement by the Egyptian embassy in Beirut, Ambassador Mohamed Zayed said the initiative conveys Egypt’s understanding of the humanitarian crisis Syrians are going through, as well as the extent of the responsibility the Lebanese government bears with the large number of refugees on its territory.
More than 1.1 million Syrian refugees are registers in Lebanon, according to the UN Refugee Agency, with estimates of hundreds of thousands others unregistered.
In Egypt, around 133,600 Syrians are registered as refugees.
