Algeria, through the spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Abdelaziz Benali Cherif, on Wednesday hailed the signing Tuesday of a political agreement in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), expressing the hope that this agreement “lays the foundations of a final settlement” of the crisis in this country.
“We hail the successful culmination of the national dialogue with signing of a political agreement between the presidential majority, a part of the opposition and organizations of civil society in the Democratic Republic of the Congo,” Benali Cherif told APS.
“We hope that mechanisms established in accordance with this agreement lead to an appeasement and lay the foundations of final resolution of the crisis in this brotherly country,” he stressed.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry advocated “the involvement of all political players partaking in this inclusive process to direct the country towards the path of reconciliation, peace and development.”
