Lebanese army continues anti-IS operation

The Lebanese army continued for a third consecutive day to target ISIS group positions on the country’s eastern border with Syria after capturing a third of the territory held by militants in the area.
The army had begun its operation in the Arsal, Baalbek and Jurud al Qaa region early on Saturday.
Soldiers were firing heavy artillery and rockets at ISIS positions, NNA reported, pointing out that the army cleared the areas of booby traps that killed three soldiers and wounded another in the outskirts of Arsal.
The Lebanese army announced yesterday that it was in control of two-thirds of ISIS-controlled territory, two days after the start of the battle, which has so far killed dozens of ISIS elements.
