Tunisia, Saudi Arabia discuss military co-operation

Tunisia National Defence Minister Abdelkrim Zbidi received Friday Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador Mohamed Ben Mahmoud Al Ali.
The meeting turned on bilateral co-operation and ways to boost it notably in the military field, a Defence Ministry press release reads.
The two sides reviewed the historical and brotherly ties binding the two countries, reaffirming mutual will to reinforce military co-operation, notably in the training field.
On this occasion, the Saudi official hailed Tunisia’s support to the efforts of the Anti-terrorism Islamic Coalition, reiterating his country’s willingness to further support Tunisia in various fields.
Besides, the Defence Minister received Qatar’s Ambassador in Tunis Saad Ben Naceur Al Hamidi, who affirmed as quoted as saying in the same press release, his country’s willingness to continue to develop bilateral co-operation in the military field and raise it to higher levels.
Zbidi, for his part, commended the support provided by Qatar to Tunisia during the 2011 refugees’ crisis, voicing wish that co-operation between both countries be further boosted and calling in this regard for activating the Tunisian-Qatari military commission, the press release added.
