Cracks Over Policy Cast Shadow over Bulgaria’s New Govt

Bulgarian politics enter a new phase with ‘We Continue the Change’ heading a coalition under Kiril Petkov as Prime Minister – but the political diversity of the new cabinet could be a major problem.
The formation of a new government in Bulgaria in early December understandably brought a new sense of optimism and hope for change in the country.

It was a long road to get to this point after an entire year spent in repeated elections with inconclusive results and failed coalition talks.

Finally, on Monday, the victors in the November elections, the newcomers “We Continue the Change”, assumed power at the head of a wide coalition, with Democratic Bulgaria, “There’s Such People” and the Bulgarian Socialist Party.
