Lana Finally Arrived: Unloading of Oil Tanker in Baniyas to End Fuel Crisis?

The U.S. Navy in Greece had earlier detained the Lana before the Greek Supreme Court ordered the cargo be returned to Iran, according to Athr Press.

A source in the city of Baniyas confirmed to Athr Press the arrival of an oil tanker carrying 700 thousand barrels of crude oil, to Baniyas.

The source indicated that the unloading of the tanker began after the completion of the linking operations and the completion of marine logistical operations in accordance with the technical and time procedures followed.

The source indicated that the tanker arrived a few days ago in Baniyas. It was not unloaded due to the weather conditions that were prevailing, stressing that the tanker suffered some malfunctions as a result of the cessation of some air pumps in the linking systems.

The Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Engineer Bassam Tohme, said a few days ago in a television interview that one tanker does not solve the crisis, and there must be regularity in the supply until the crisis is resolved. He stressed that there is an exaggeration of the issue of the arrival of a tanker, and even the ones that arrive are small in size– one million barrels and below.
