Top officials from Iran and Saudi Arabia weighed plans for regional cooperation between the two Muslim heavyweights at a meeting in Riyadh.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud held talks on the sidelines of a joint meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League in Riyadh on Saturday.
The two leaders talked about the expansion of bilateral relations and regional cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian president and the Saudi crown prince also agreed on plans for detailed and extensive talks about bilateral issues and regional affairs in the future.
During his stay in Riyadh, Raisi also held separate meetings with Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Syria Bashar al-Assad, President of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Caretaker Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and President of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his address to the extraordinary summit of the OIC on Saturday, Raisi drew up ten proposals for urgent action to stop the Israeli regime’s onslaught against Gaza and help the Palestinian people in the besieged enclave.
