Israel has agreed to release up to 800 Palestinian prisoners – Hamas will free 40 hostages

It has been agreed that Israel will release several hundred prisoners, some of whom are serving life sentences for killing Israeli citizens, reported by Barak Ravid.

As reported by the Jerusalem Post, in return, Hamas will release 40 hostages.

High-ranking Israeli officials said that Israel has expressed willingness to discuss the US proposal for bridging regarding the return of Palestinian civilians to the northern Gaza Strip – an issue that is one of the main points of contention in the negotiation.

Israel has ruled out the full return of Gaza residents to the northern Strip as part of the agreement, Israeli Channel 12 reported on the other hand.
