Extreme right-winger and Israeli Minister for National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir has criticized the continuation of negotiations for a prisoner and ceasefire agreement with Hamas in Gaza, saying it would amount to surrendering to a terrorist group.
In an interview with Radio 103 FM, Ben-Gvir called for halting the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip, an action that Israeli allies have repeatedly warned would cross a red line and potentially cost Israel their support.
“We are crushing Hamas. So now we should go to a conference and surrender? This is a major mistake by the Prime Minister,” he said.
He stated that it is a mistake to sit down with Hamas, which “raped murdered and burned babies, and we will surrender to them?”
Ben-Gvir reiterated his calls to cut off fuel and aid supplies to Gaza.
“If we cut off their fuel, within a week they would be on their knees. And if we stop the aid trucks, within two weeks they would be kneeling. So why would we make an agreement, especially such a irresponsible one?” he said.
“What nonsense, what a terrible mistake, a huge catastrophe. We can achieve complete victory,” emphasized Itamar Ben-Gvir.
