21 Palestinian killed in an Israeli attack on a school in Gaza: Among them are 13 children and six women…

At least 21 people, including 13 children, were killed in a new Israeli airstrike in Gaza, this time on a school in the Zeitoun neighborhood. Dozens were injured. The Government of Gaza reported that the school was housing displaced Palestinians.

The statement noted that the airstrike killed 21 Palestinians, including 13 children and six women, one of whom was pregnant.

Additionally, 30 more people were injured in the attack, including nine children, it was reported.

The office stated that since the beginning of the Israeli offensive on Gaza, 181 centers for displaced persons have been targeted by Israeli forces.

A medical source at the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City told Anadolu that the victims were brought to the hospital after the attack on the school, where hundreds of displaced families were housed.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli airstrike hit the Asqoula area in the Zeitoun neighborhood, causing casualties among those seeking shelter in the school.

The Israeli military acknowledged that it targeted the school, claiming that Hamas was using it as a ‘command and control center.’

Moreover, violating a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its ongoing brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip following the attacks by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7, 2023.

Since then, more than 41,300 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Israel has been accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
