Erdogan’s frightening warning: “The global system is on the verge of collapse…”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon will lead to the expansion of conflict in the region, emphasizing that these events are a clear manifestation of efforts to widen the war into a broader area. He made these statements during a speech at an event organized by the Turkish-American National Steering Committee (TASC) in New York.

“The recent attacks on Lebanon and the statements coming from Israel demonstrate an intention to expand the conflict in the region,” Erdogan said, adding that such developments threaten peace and stability in the Middle East.

Erdogan, who arrived in the U.S. to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, also condemned Israeli actions in the Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip. The Turkish president emphasized that he views what is happening there as genocide and warned of possible broader consequences for regional peace.

“Genocide that Israel is carrying out in Palestinian territories threatens the security of the entire region,” Erdogan said, criticizing global institutions and organizations for their inaction. He believes that these institutions have not taken concrete steps to end the violence in Gaza, highlighting the moral collapse of the international system.

“The massacre that has lasted for more than 350 days in Gaza clearly demonstrates the inability of world institutions to respond to this crisis,” Erdogan concluded, adding that Turkey will not remain silent about Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which they consider sacred.
