Statement from HAMAS regarding their meeting with Ministers Fidan and Kalın

The Islamic resistance movement Hamas announced that a delegation from the movement’s leadership met with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Director İbrahim Kalın to discuss the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and ways to deliver humanitarian aid to the Strip.

In a statement, HAMAS announced that a delegation led by the Chairman of the Leadership Council, Muhammed Derviş, met with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and MIT Director İbrahim Kalın in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

The statement also reported that the HAMAS delegation included Political Bureau members Khaled Meshaal, Zahir Jabarin, Nizar Avadallah and Sami Hater.

Hamas reported that during the meeting, the Chairman of the Movement’s Leadership Council reviewed the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the ways to deliver humanitarian aid and assistance to the Strip.

Derviş emphasized that the Zionist occupation has delayed the implementation of the agreement due to its repeated violations in recent days, its refusal to open the Rafah border crossing for the passage of the sick and injured, and its obstruction of humanitarian aid entry into Gaza.

Darwish emphasized the movement’s commitment to a complete ceasefire despite repeated violations by the occupying enemy. He emphasized the movement’s insistence, alongside Palestinian factions, on the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination and the right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. He also emphasized the need to meet all basic needs, so that shelter operations, road repairs, and water and food aid can be immediately launched, leading to the complete reconstruction of the areas destroyed by the Gaza Strip attack.

The head of the movement’s leadership council also commended the efforts of his brothers in Türkiye, particularly President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the mediators, to stop the genocidal war against the people of Gaza. Derviş praised Türkiye’s general stance in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause, and emphasized the importance of all powers and actors in the Arab and Islamic worlds doing their part to support the resolve of the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza, which is suffering from the effects of the occupation’s genocidal war.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized Türkiye’s support for the Palestinian people and its resolute stance in rejecting the occupation’s aggression, stressing that the occupation must be forced to implement the ceasefire agreement, resume humanitarian aid inflows, and immediately begin reconstruction.

MIT Director İbrahim Kalın also noted his country’s resolute stance on the Palestinian issue, pointing to Turkey’s efforts to strengthen the ceasefire and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
