US announces additional $725m in security assistance for Ukraine

High-speed anti-radiation missiles and 5,000 anti-tank weapons are part of the package.

The US Department of Defense (Dod) has confirmed additional security assistance worth over $725m to equip Ukraine’s armed forces with key defence capabilities.

The latest aid package is the 23rd presidential drawdown of equipment from Dod stocks for the war-torn nation since August 2021.

The assistance includes more ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 23,000 155mm artillery rounds, 500 precision-guided 155mm artillery rounds, 5,000 155mm rounds of Remote Anti-Armor Mine (RAAM) systems, and 5,000 anti-tank weapons.
