President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Stresses Friendly Ties among Regional States

A0909823415.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for the replacement of the unfriendly atmosphere prevailing in the region with affinity and cordial ties among different states in a bid to establish peace and tranquility in the region.

Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting here on Saturday with the incoming ambassador of Cyprus, where he viewed the two countries’ ties as friendly and developing.

He also voiced Tehran’s enthusiasm for the further expansion of mutual relations and cooperation with Cyprus in all the different grounds.

Ahmadinejad also expressed the hope that with the bilateral and multilateral efforts made by the senior officials of the two countries, regional and global issues would be resolved.

For his part, the Cypriot envoy viewed Tehran-Nicosia relations as age-old and historical, and stressed his country’s willingness to further bolster cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He also stated his country’s support for the Islamic Republic at the international circles and bodies.
