Quake Hits Southern Iran

A03492841.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Khesht in Iran’s southern province of Fars on Tuesday.

The seismological base of Fars province affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 03:59 hours local time (00:29 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 51.31 degrees in longitude and 29.60 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
