Quake Hits Southwestern Iran

A033411019.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale jolted the region of Hoseiniyeh in Iran’s southwestern province of Khuzestan on Saturday.

According to the seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the quake was registered at 09:00:58 hours local time (05:30:58 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 48.05 degrees in longitude and 32.66 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
