Vietnam Supports Iran’s N. Plan

A01299306.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) – Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem voiced his country’s support for Iran’s right to acquire peaceful nuclear technology.

Khiem made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s Agriculture Minister, Mohammad Reza Eskandari, in Hanoi on Thursday, a press tv report said.

The official pointed out that his country opposed nuclear weapons but supported the use of nuclear technology for civilian purposes.

He also referred to the UN nuclear watchdog’s latest report which said no diversion has been noticed in Iran’s nuclear activities and expressed hope that the country’s nuclear issue would be resolved in the near future.

The deputy prime minister said cooperation with Iran in agriculture and energy sectors are Vietnam’s first priorities.

Eskandari, for his part, reiterated Iran’s peaceful nuclear intentions, and said Tehran has made great developments in various scientific and economic fields, especially in agriculture.
