Supreme Leader Meets Eritrean President

r16.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei met with the Eritrea’s visiting President, Isaias Afwerki here in Tehran on Tuesday.

During the meeting where President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was also present, Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the situation in the world at present is very different from what prevailed 20 years ago.

He further explained that thanks to the growing awareness and self-confidence of nations and peoples, the world countries are now confronting and foiling the schemes of the forces of monopolism and domination.

The Leader went on to say that the present world order has unfairly and illogically categorized nations into the two groups of the oppressed and the oppressors, and underlined that by reinforcing their cooperation, the countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America could change the prevailing international situation.

Expressing admiration to the Eritrean people’s struggle, the Islamic Revolution Leader stressed Iran’s readiness to develop all-round relations with the African state.

President Isaias, for his part, commended the Iranian people’s support for Eritrea, and noted that the victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution marked a turning point in the liberation of the countries of the region.
