TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s Commerce Minister Masoud Mirkazemi is heading for China today to take part in a conference of commerce ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) which will kick off on Wednesday in Beijing.
During his visit to China, Mirkazemi will hold meetings with the Iranian tradesmen residing in China.
The two sides trade in the first seven months of 2008 surpassed $17 billion of which more than $12.7 billion is related to Iran’s exports and over $4.6 billion is for its imports from China, Tehran Times reported.
The countries’ economic experts believe that Iran-China trade value will touch $30 billion by the end of 2008, showing a $10 billion growth over the figure of 2007.
Iran as well as Pakistan, India, and Mongolia, have observer status in SCO.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an intergovernmental mutual-security organization which was founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
